5th Class Order of the German Eagle with out swords

    Hello,

I purchased this 5th Class Order of the German Eagle with out swords from Collector's Guild a number of years ago. I have decided to thin out my collection and I decided to post the item for sale on the forum. I trust the Guild and never thought to have it reviewed first. I was just contacted that the item is not original. I would appreciate any help that can be provided. If it is a reproduction I'd like to know so it can be removed from sale.

    Regards,
    Tim

Far from the quality you'd expect on an original.

        Totally agree with Peter J.
It is with absolute certainty a Fake

It is not one of the models accepted as originals for their characteristics and for that ribbon that is not original either

So I wonder ~ how does one proceed from here? I know Peter's a nice guy but most of his stuff is consignment, yes? After a couple a years it's not like Peter can go back to the original consignor. Thus, what? He takes it on the chin? (Just wondering what folks envision.)

Timothy If you still save the purchase invoice to Collector's Guild ask for responsibilities and try to reach a solution

                  Hello,

Thanks to everyone for the comments on the piece. I will reach out to the Guild on this piece. At one point, I thought about collecting different classes of the Order. As collecting often does I went in a different direction. Anyone that collects WWII German Militaria needs to have a strong stomach. We have all made mistakes and yet we move on and keep doing it. I'll have the moderator remove the piece from sale.

                  Regards,
                  Tim

That's a good reflection. I sincerely hope that this dealer acknowledges his mistake and returns the money paid for this copy that does not respond to an original
