Here is something I learned from Jo (wish he was still here with us)
There is a chip to the edge .When enamel chips it comes right away from the base metal.without a trace (normaly)
A repro using modern plastic type (enamel) (resin) will tend to leave some trace where it was attached .
Just a little bit of info for ya.
