    Interesting Brunswick SA badge

    Hi Guys,

This unusual piece came in and I was wondering if anyone had seen anything like it before? It seems to be some kind of private commissioned item- very nicely made.

    Appreciate your thoughts!

    Many thanks

Any sign of a seam. Doesn't look to be a two part badge, so why the hole?

What's that old saying -- "Every day I see something new!"?! Well, I've never seen an SA-Braunschweig Treffen Badge like this one before, either with the strange hole on the reverse or with a military-style pin assembly! And while the piece is obviously nice and bright, and while it tends to resemble the solid aluminum version of this badge, it does not have the RZM marking that is standard with the solid version, and the detail of the obverse is quite lacking, indicating that this is a casting from an original period piece.

Sorry Patrick, but I would no want this piece for my collection.

I agree--the eagle shows what look like casting bubbles as well.

Is it made of alloy ? I never saw this type before but it could have existed because it was also worn on combat uniforms and for this purpose, it might have this thicker sword needle !?
