There are many manufacturers for this badge as for example Hermann Aurich, Deschler & Sohn, F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Overhoff & Cie and Paulmann & Crone.
The rarest I have seen did not have a safety-pin, but prongs as used for wearing with headgear. The reverse is shown in volume 5 from the series "Headgear of Hitlers Germany". It was marked as W.D.
