The tinnie as you are inquiring about is supposed to represent the "German Horse Driver's Badge".
I dont know much about these other than the most common form is the same type like your DRL badges for maker marks and pin / hinge and catch assembly.
I would venture to guess that yours is the pin "tinnie" version? Whats the Diameter of it?
