    Round Deutscher Frauenhilfsdienst Pin

    Greetings,

I noticed this tinnie in another thread. I also have some cloth with same theme. I don't remember if it is an article of clothing or an armband. Does anyone recognize the cloth article? (I realize it isn't a tinnie, but they were collected together.)
    Regards, -d.

The cloth has the design of a frauenschaft pin for the type 3. Normally, the header does not have both the frauenschaft and the frauenwerk on the header. The cloth is an interesting piece. Could you show a closer pic of just the cloth insignia?

      John,
I will be able to photgraph this in two months or so. Unfortunately these are stored in my dad's WWII foot locker and he lives a 1,000 miles from me. I will re-post or send a private message this summer. Thanks for your interest. - d.

Sorry for the delay and for raising a dead thread, but here is the picture of the cloth insignia. -d.

I've got one of the big round enameled Frauenhilfsdienst pins as well. It's not listed in Cone's reference, and have only seen a few others like it. Looks like the lettering on ours is slightly different. Mine has no markings on the back.

Very nice Scott. From what I understand, the unmarked ones are more desirable.........

            Thanks for showing us.

            Cheers

                Greetings,

I thought it might be interesting to see the back of these pins, especially since I knocked off the gizmo on the back. You can see there is no mkrs mark and you can see the surface usually encumbered with the clasp and solder. The surface looks rough, but it is very smooth and partially tarnished. It has a very pleasant belltone when tapped. -d.

As it looked before clasp popped off:

Back with clasp moved out of the way:

                Soldered surface of clasp:

                        Hello,
The clothes insignia are for the Sport shirt I think.
It was worn on the breast of the shirt, like you know from BDM,SS,WH,WM,and so on.
                        Regards Karl
