    Bronze Horse Rider

I bought this from estand recently but carelessly didn't notice that it was devoid of the "R" component.

I presume that it's immediate post-WW2, while the vendor believes it's pre-TR period.

I'd greatly appreciate informed opinions about the badge's pedigree.

    Many thanks,

    Mike

The badge shown above, without (R), is post 1954 - there never were pre TR rider-badges without an (R)!

The rider badge was created on April 09, 1930, three years before the nazis were elected. The first badges were awarded in the fall of 1930.

From it's creation it carried on the bottom an (R) (the "R" stands for "Reichsverband fur Zucht und Prufung des deutschen Warmblutes").

The "R" had nothing to do with the nazis or the third Reich. With the creation of the Bundesrepublik Deutschland in 1949 the (R) was dropped since the Reichsverband became the Bundesverband.

Below is an award document from my collection, the doc is printed in 1930 and awarded in 1931 - note the badge has an (R)
