    Rich Research:
"Some basic research, standing on the shoulders of the late Dr. Klietmann:

DRA National Sports Badges (1913-14, 1919-34)--
    bronze: approx. 248,000
    silver: approx. 9,200
    gold: approx 4,200

    DRL National Sports Badges (1934-37)--
    bronze: approx 431,000
    silver: approx 14,300
    gold: approx 7,000"

    That is not correct.

Approxiamately 480 000 DRA badges for men and women had been awarded.

Exact 0 DRL badges without a swastika had been awarded.

    Frank Heukemes:
"...only the ones like the DRA badge pictured by Rick were awarded before 1914 (it depends on the maker). Between 1914 and 1918 none were awarded."
    Richard:
"Are all Marcus DRA badges from 1913-1914 or did he also manufacture badges from 1919 on?"
    Rick Research:
"As I recall, what I assume are the "1919" type Marcus pieces don't say Court Jeweler,..."

Eugen Marcus produced sports badges 1913/1914 (the only manufacturer) and post WWI, presumably starting in 1919. All original pieces, pre war and post war, were marked with Court Jeweler "Hofjuwelier", but not the tips, they were marked "MARCUS BERLIN W.8" [no place for the complete title ]
There had been some more different dies and variations, as stated here, more than 3.

I beg your pardon for my bad English

      I am surprised at it.

      Okay, let us continue.

      Frank Heukemes:
"Anybody with a DRL without swastika so I can compare to mine? That Swastika tip on my bothers me."

Frank, if you did not find the answer meanwhile, please look here:

Rick, your DRA made by Marcus with silver hallmark 0900 is a really pretty sports badge. I have never seen before such an example.
      Excellent!
It could be the only one!

But I think, that this sports badge is a post WWI production, and it is not an official award, but originally made by the original jeweler.

Did somebody forbid to answer here to my statements?

Or does everybody accept my statements?

Then I can state, that DRL sports badges without swastika did not exist before the end of the Third Reich.

I saw this one today and thought I'd post it here for comment. I've never seen a "full" bullion DRL before...

            Silver DRL/Reiterabzeichen

            Hello,
New to these forums but I am hoping some fellow collectors may be able to proffer me their advice and assistance!

I am at present attempting to assemble a Heydrich grouping from original awards (though obviously not as issued to the man himself!) as per the months leading up to his death. I have already sourced an EKI and pilots badge I was wondering whether anyone had a for sale, or links to a nice original Silver Rider's badge and DRL. I'm not looking for mint copies, rather somewith a little age patina to them if poss. Am based in the UK!

Anyway my thanks in advance, and I hope no-one minds my posting this here!
            Cheers,
            Simon
