searching for a GPB

If someone has any idea...?

Sorry that I have no information on examples of this GPB, nor do I know who Number 86549 was originally issued to. If you know who held that number, please let me know.

Are you sure the owner qualified for a GPB. Not all under 100k members satisfied the requirements.

Right you are, Joe -- in fact, MOST of the NSDAP Members who held numbers below 100,000 either did not qualify for the award or did not apply for it.

Only thing I know is that the number is attributable. I believe to an Austrian BO holder.

Of course, every collector needs to keep in mind that establishing that a certain NSDAP Membership Number was held by a GPB Träger does NOT verify that a particular badge is genuine! Fake GPBs abound, and at least some of them bear numbers that once belonged to an actual GPB Holder, just as no one should assume that a GPB bearing "AH" and a date on it's reverse is original to the period. Fake examples of the Honorary AH GPB exist, too!
