I just picked this up with a group of other things from reaearching this I think that it is a type two but I am not sure, it is maker marked M1/49. what do you think? Thanks

Yes, I agree that this appears to be an original NSDAP stickpin. The RZM license-holder for M1/49 was the firm of Adolf Baumeister of Lüdenscheid, in the North Rhine-Westphalia region of what appears to have been Gau Kurhessen under the NSDAP. As for whether or not this design is considered to be "type two," I am not certain of that designation, though this is certainly not the original style of the NSDAP's eagle and swastika.
