    Hilter Pawewalk 1937 Tinnie

On October 21st, 1918, Adolf Hitler was admitted to a military hospital in Pasewalk, for blindness as a result of British mustard gas. After learning of Germany’s surrender during his stay, by his own account, Hitler claimed he decided he was going to save Germany:

“When I was confined to bed, the idea came to me that I would liberate Germany, that I would make it great. I knew immediately that it would be realized”

This hospital stay became part of Hitler’s carefully crafted mythos. In 1937, a “Weihestätte” (basically a shrine) was completed at the sight of the hospital in Pasewalk.

This tinnie was most likely made to celebrate the newly established shrine given the featured profile of Hitler and the date of October 21st, the same day Hitler was first admitted to the hospital in 1918.

Thank you. I wish the postcard was mine.

Sadly, I can find very little information or few photos of the event otherwise.

Thank you Bob for your kind words. There's a lot of interesting debate about what really went on with Hitler's blindness and treatment at Pasewalk. Here's another photo I found of Hess "handing over" the shrine in 1937.

              nice badge ETN

yes the history around Pasewalk is always interesting history filled whit a lot of mysteries on what was going on, and how he was threated medical on the neurotic clinic ( mental illness ) in Pasewalk hospital for hysterical blindness.

well in 1934 the NS Partei organisation Hausgenossenshaft Pommeren bought the ground where Hitler was threated, the neorotic clinic that was original a schützenhaus was razed it to the ground after that they build the shrine on the same ground and your badge represent the opening tree years after they started building it, today the building no longer exist.

well imo we are entering Hitlers hobby, make those who has been Against me through life- suffer hard - was always high on his list.

well the shrine was imo one of Hitlers classics coverups like the Munic putz or the reichstag fire, they was all a coverups in there own way to serve there purpose, this is for me just a bit more interesting because this is the coverup around 2 things- his mentality or what the 2 doctors dr. Edmund Forester and dr. Korner had on his mentality so his release papers from hospital i highly compromising
where words like " hysterical" and " nicht führings bereit" ( not mental correct to lead people ) is involved is not the great entrance for a " world greatest leader " so he try to correct the story by erasing it- and make it correct according to " Mein kampf " so that could be true too is the second purpose. So in short words his lies had to to be true all around.

the 2 doctors ended up in KZ camps dr. forester died before the war and dr. Korner did survive the kz camp and the war, he lived until 1954 in iceland. he try to hide a copy of Hitlers papers from Pasewalk in Paris by a jewis writer but not successful, after taking France it was erased too. Luckely to US Navial Service Further quotes from the Pasewalk hospital was found in this archive.

So the shrine is a lie too, the Munich putz talks for that which is highly anti- politic behavior just to take out the Goverment by 200 followers by force is not politic on any plans, its naive behavior- its just making the situation much worse in the country. imo Hitlers decision was first made after the war and after he was assigned the task on keeping a eye on the NS party lead by Anton Drexler and after Hitler saw how week Anton led the party then he made the decision on entering politic and i have never heard a word on hitler making great politic speakings at the front only being hysterical

heres a coupple of pics too.

Here he is whit some patients in the same stiuation from pasewalk

the Neuro clinic or schûtzenhaus as it original was before the nazis erased it.
