Here is another Youth lodging tinne. Different than the two that Yancy posted. That makes four that we have seen including the boat one I posted earlier. Was wondering, how many were in this series of HJ tinnies? Mike

Looking back through the pages of this thread I see the glass/plastic runes badges are mentioned.

They also are part of a set sold to raise money for the youth hostels, they are difficult to read because they are written in old Germanic script but there are 6 to collect:

        Blut und Boden
        Erntesegen
        Heil
        Kampf
        Leben
        Sieg

        They were made in 1940.

        C.

I jumped back to look at the runes badges posted by Venga girls (page 3, one B4 this one) they are Sieg, Erntesegen, Blut und Boden and Kampf, that should let members compare the names to the scripts, so Venga needs to find Heil and Leben.

                DJH posted by Richard

                Reference the close up of three badges (back a page);
the top two DJH are circa 1933.

Richard, all I can find on your HJ badge is it's a General Hitler Youth donation badge. Most likely a cavalry training unit. this is from Manions book vol.2

                      question

I have a question--are the paper HJ tinnies WHW related or not?? This is in regards to the ones that have been posted here. Thanks, Mike

Mike, From what I can tell the HJ paper tinnies you are refering to were not related to the WHW. While the HJ, SA, SS and other NSDAP org's. sold WHW items to help raise money for the Social welfare they also had their own items to sell for themselves such as the above items.

James--what other items--ie--tinnies did the SS and SA sell? Where they WHW related or seperate items like the HJ paper tinnies? Thanks, Mike

Mike to name a few sets that were sold by the SA,SS and other groups for the WHW these would be the 12 piece Soldaten 1510-1916 set, 10 piece Soldaten der Wehmacht set, the 20 piece Trachten der Ostmark set, the 10 piece Tiere set. And as you already know the SA had a number of meeting and sports related tinnies they sold.

                                Question for Yancy:

                                Yancy,

Where can I find the foxhole Tinnies ref. book(s)? How many are there in the series? You may PM me the reply if you prefer. Thanks! Marvin
