      Not really a tinnie,

but I guess this would be the correct forum for this sort of thing. Just in from Mike Dunn, a fabulous piece, don't you think?

          Fabulous

          Ralph-

That is "mouth-watering".... sweet.... original paint ? If it is, that is quite a find.... I've surfed Manion's for years looking at tinnies and WHW pieces - haven't seen this one either....

What did you have to do to get Mike to send it your way ??

          Keep sharing mate !!! Thanks.

Kevin--as far as I know the paint is original on the toy soldier. It came out of a big collection in Germany from the original collectors family. IF re-painted--done a long time ago. I sent it to Ralph because he let me know that he would like it for the bunker. I collect WWI items, if he had been a WWI soldier and flag---it would be in my case! Which makes me think, I don't recall ever seeing these toy soldiers in WWI outfits. Mike

Well Mike, these are scanned for you to enjoy. Some older WWI tinnies from my collection. The bronze one says "Karpathen durchhalten! 3 Armee 1914-1915" and has soldiers with rifles pointed at a giant bear coming over the mountains. The grey one says Weihnachten im Felde 1917". Sorry about the fuzzy scan. These are a lot more detailed than the pics would indicate.
