What is this tinny for?

I got this tinny in a group of stuff. What is it for and is it original? It has an odd pin on the back.

imo yes its original , its a civil badge for 25 years of faithful service in the Pfälzischen economy sektor.

the needle is not odd at all , its a very nice original mid 30 needle system that you see on quality badges, imo congrat mate.
