Kreistag Der Nsdap 1939 swastika Badges

    heya all

Heres a little collection on the kreistag swastika badges 1939 idd collected over some years now and besides studying the events, then the more i collect the more questions it rise so its a badge whit some mysteries included. Well all the badges is from the lower GAU in germany and includes several cities from the Czec, austria and germany so we are pretty deep down in germany.

As some of you already can see its not complete yet, there still some cities to go but lets have a look on those already founded.

What first strikes me is how they have standardized the badge of this magnitude, is remarkable, and the probability that the coming war has had an impact on the quality also makes its mark as it is a pretty fragile badge made in a cheap material and stamped in a cheap way too, that means the maker C. Poellath reused his design from 1935 " Kreis Donauwürth Fahnenübergabe " so basic only city names was changed. this is under a year before the war so he was proberbly on budget.

what strikes me further is the rarity of the badge, its extreme hard to get around and you will only meet them rarely on normal collecting method, so its a badge ull have to hunt down the hard way, in which points in the direction of a participants badge for each Nsdap offices listed in these city names, also the collor of the badges points in that direction because they come in gold , silver and bronze as you can see more visual on my last picture. i have not yet seen a city in more then same collar, so maybe you guys can fill in the blank there, so if the collar differ idd like to know

lets look on the gold first

sadly i dont have any on Amstetten but as i digg in it then i see the Mayor's office just voted out Adolf Hitler as " Ehren burger " just 3 days ago somebody must have a really flat a.. on that, and i really really wonder what the city would have done just a week ago if he turned up in the city suddenly , and how big the parade would be i would have enjoyed the major face.... whit popcorn.

Hitler became Ehren burger same year 39, so better late then never i guess

I agree: A VERY impressive collection indeed! Are there any markings on the reverse of these badges?

Thanks again for sharing this collection, and congrats!

                    heya all

long time no see Br. nice to see you still here and no there is no signs of maker in the badges sadly but they are all whit precise same needle config and its cheap made, when i roll it back in time to the original maker of this eksakt same design from C. poelleath in solid version whit the tree toed party eagle glowing in a big swastika which is serving the real purpose of this propaganda badge is to make a income directly to the tressure chest whit in the nazi party so cheap made, not so cheap sold... is a bugger for us.
He would probably be making this in a solid version again if not the war was so close up to these events, and not to forget the whole GAU was new after the annexation of Austria so this badge represent their very first kreistag badge which makes it special interesting. So a mass produced badge from same maker in first model kreistag- and by standardization become a half part GAU badge is very interesting history.

non of the programs i have seen carry any info on what the badge cost or how to require it but again who in the nazi party wanna be public on their income that is a no go in that system.

any new info pls then fell free

                          heya guys

thanks for all the nice words

and yes peter, you see all the badges comes from the GAU Niederdonau, a newly formed GAU at that time and to give a more understanding what i am collecting then i can set a complete list here of the GAU and in that you can see what badges i still have to hunt down. ( the first 1 is on my might be possible list soon )

                          GAU NIEDERDONAU :

                          1.Stadtkreis Krems

                          5.Landkreis Baden
                          6.Landkreis Bruck an der Leitha
                          7.Landkreis Eisenstadt
                          8.Landkreis Gänserndorf
                          9.Landkreis Gmünd
                          10.Landkreis Hollabrunn
                          11.Landkreis Horn
                          12.Landkreis Korneuburg
                          13.Landkreis Krems
                          14.Landkreis Lilienfeld
                          15.Landkreis Melk
                          16.Landkreis Neubistritz
                          17.Landkreis Neunkirchen in Niederdonau
                          18.Landkreis Nikolsburg
                          19.Landkreis Oberpullendorf
                          20.Landkreis Sankt Pölten
                          21.Landkreis Scheibbs
                          22.Landkreis Tulln
                          23.Landkreis Waidhofen an der Thaya
                          24.Landkreis Wiener Neustadt
                          25.Landkreis Znaim
                          26.Landkreis Zwettl

so i am around 40 % into the collection pt. and it have taken me around 14 years to collect these and i estimate around 12 more years so in total min 25 years on this project is my final goal. but the collecting is just the formality the history that surrounds it is much much more important in the understanding how the nazi infrastructure works, Hitlers mentality around newly conquered areas and in that how they wanna standardized newly formed GAUs bye copy and paste methods so to say and much more.

So for me it represent whit all the evidence, is pointing in the direction on a unique proto type for the next GAU on the list in which gives me a look into future too, and yes for those interested to know it give me a insight on reverse collecting or badges we are missing and luckily cant collect. So just for info the next GAUs that was on the nazi list would have been added to the 42 already functional GAUs so the final list in 44 looks like this :

                          -Banat/Prinz-Eugen Belgrade
                          -Beskidenland krakrau
                          -Brabant ( no info )
                          -Burgund eastern France
                          -Galizien Podolian plain
                          -Gotenland Crimean peninsula
                          -Nordmark Denmark
                          -Vandalenland general Government
                          -Weichselland Warsaw
                          -Westland/Holland Netherlands

these are the missing GAUs and for those who are like me interested in name research too will quickly spot that many of these names are old tribes names that original comes out of Scandinavia area and later resettled in these areas and existed for hundreds of years.

sadly much of the evidence probably ended up in smoke during the last days in Berlin during Operation Clausewitz the early morning at the 20 april 45 where orders of official papers and documents was set in destruction orders, and this was party papers so probably some of the first that went up in smoke. We can still research locally and piece it together but that`s the hard part.

hope it brings a bit more further in what we are collecting
