    Romanian Volkssdeutsche Military Sports Badge

    This incredible rarity just turned up at a small auction house in Scotland- there are only a handful of these known to still exist- they were mainly awarded to Waffen SS members.

    This is the type 2 with needle pin and locking catch - this one having an interesting conversion probably because the rotating lock broke.

            Interesting conversion on the reverse. My example had a dimple on the top of the sword reverse upper right, I think it may have been a soldered shut air hole, I can see it on the examples in the link.
