The film "Idiocracy" was originally released as a comedy. Now it has been re-released as a documentary.

Sarcasm is just one of my many talents!

Yes, this is an SA Military Defense Badge -- the wartime 3rd Issue of the SA Sport Badge series -- Gold Grade. A nice piece by an uncommon maker.

        Hi !
I am sorry but I believe that only golden numbered ones existed. I had 3 (meanwhile only 2) in my possession and they are numbered as also the silver ones. Many of the bronze ones are without number because their number was more than one million ! I also own the very first model of the bronze badge where the number is stamped into the sword directly under the letters.
        Regards

Sorry to disagree with you, Reinhard2, but all three grades of the Military Defense Badge were issued without numbers on the reverse. These numbers referenced each badge to a numbered Award Certificate in the case of the 1st and 2nd Issue SA Sport Badge, but the wartime-issue Military Defense Badge -- the 3rd Issue of the SA Sport Badge series -- simplified the process by eliminating the keyed numbers on both the badge and the certificate.

As for un-numbered badges in the 1st and 2nd series, these represented private purchase examples of these two series.

I think that this one is a "light" bronze example. The same confusion in apparent grade also happens in regard to combat clasps.

It’s a bronze that has been spray painted- look at the paint coming off on the catch
