books strictly about non portable items?

Does anyone know if there are any books that deal strictly with just non portable items like plaques and medallions ? I know some books have a couple of items in them but I haven't found any book dedicated to strictly those types of items. If anyone knows of any I'd be interested to find out the names of them.
    thanks

IMO such a book doesn't exist at the moment.

      Hello Wim,
Thanks for your reply. I kind of figured that but figured I'd ask just in case there was one floating around out there already.
      thanks

There is an obscure two volume book that I believe has most all of the Third Reich Meissen porcelain medals:

Zachb, thanks for that info also. I hope one of these days someone puts out a book dealing strictly with non portable items and such. In any case thank you all for your replies

That sounds like quite an ambitious project, Bill, since plaques and the huge line of "non-portable awards" and objects is as vast as it must be! And that's the reason why no one has attempted this yet, since most books are written about a particular subject or related subjects and the authors try to include as many examples of such objects as relate to the subject or subjects.

But I'm with you -- I'd very much like to see this attempted, too!

            Cheers,

            Br. James

Brother James, I have thought the same thing. I usually try to save pictures of plaques that people have or I see online as reference in case I run across them again & it's hard to keep up with the wide variety of them that are out there. But it would be nice to see a book devoted at least to some of them for sure. Thanks for your comment and to all who have commented I thank you.

Sadly i dont know the titles, but a few years ago i saw at a fair two (different) books from the period, showing pictures of only these kind of items, also silver pokals and such. I remember the books being too expensive to buy that day (a few hundreth a piece), but maybe someone has them. It would be a good start for any new book.

If ever such a book gets publshed you can sign me up for one, i like the subject.

                best regards,
                Gaston

For Luftwaffe plaques there's this one in German.

                    Hello again,
thanks for that info Gaston and Militaria-B. It would definitely be nice to see those two books that show just items like that.

Does the definition of “non-portable” refer to plaques? I suppose also medallions, trophies, signs?
