DRL Sportabzeichen in Silber - fake or real?

    Hi,
I'm curious about this piece, what do you think about it? I don't have a good feeling about it, especially because of the "DRGM" print.

Would the "S" in Ernst be backwards as it is on the IAB's by Muller?

Is it just me, or does there look to be some traces of bronze finish on the bacK??
          Regards,

It looks good to me and I would also say faded bronze (zinc base) badge.
            Cheers, Frank

I've never seen one in zinc, but while these are UGLY, the construction certainly looks good to me.

These badges were being awarded at least into January 1943 (the last documented one I've seen personally) and I bet they were STILL being awarded into 1945, so late-war zinc seems reasonable to me.

The way all the finish has evaporated off the icky zinc, but remained on the better metal pin reminds me of late war naval war badges and the Ostvolk awards.
