The letters look a little sloppy. Perhaps cause for a closer inspection.
I would prefer something more crisp and textbook.

Certainly we can entertain the theory that it was well worn, or came from an older die...

Note the difference - the pebbling in the background for the badge discussed does not show up well.

Please remind me what a silver '29 RPT badge meant at that event. Was it given out to "special guests?"

          Thanks,

          Br. James

First one certainly looks like a cast copy

              Hi James,

No one really knows the significances between the silver and bronze badges, only speculation.

Has anyone ever seen a badge other than silver that's marked RZM 15?

Does the Solid Backed piece by Hoffstatter count as a silver piece?

                  Hi Erich,

Your response gives me renewed confidence in my aging memory -- many thanks!

As for a '29 RPT Badge bearing an RZM mark -- any RZM mark -- that would mean that that badge was a Commemorative piece produced years later and not a badge created for the event itself.

                  Thanks again, my friend,

                  Br. James

Is this pin setup accepted for stamped badges? I thought that accepted stamped badges have either a marked Hoffstatter or plain RZM plate securing the pin?

Sorry for getting back so late on this..just returned from a very good show. After I did post the photos I did take a loupe to the badge and was seeing casting pits and flaws but overall the badge looked like it did have some promise showing wear. But measured in hand with a correct stamped badge you could tell the heavier difference. Badge was returned with no issues. First casting that I have ever seen that was in the stamped version.

Hi Greg, Good to know that you got your money back.
The lope certainly confirmed that it was bad.

I’m confident you made the right decision in returning this badge. And happy to hear the seller agreed to provide a refund.

Looks like you picked up some other nice items at the show.
