Some thoughts I've had after reading this post.. I'm wondering. what do some of you consider 'late war'?
          1943? - 44? - 45? .

So if some consider 45 late war,,I really don't think obtaining a pin like this would be available let alone would someone want one? So really for me 45 is out. To many hardships etc. and buying a party pin? No.

1944. Yes thats late war. And possibly , maybe you'd find some hardliners who would want to buy a party pin..With living hardships, like trying to get fuel? getting food, clothes, etc. From Germans I've spoken to buying a party pin would be dead last on their list of where they would spend money etc. But possible.

So 43 could be considered 'late war'. The'd be money,,they would be available. Zinc not terribly important to the war effort. So would it be fair to say,,this is a pin you'd be able to get in 1943.. And, guess 43 is late war so,,this is a late war pin.
