    Burgerbraukeller post war Red Cross

I am aware the Burger Braukeller was damaged during the war. However, I just got this from the veteran's family and cannot imagihe the use.

Does anyone have any idea the purpise of this disc and how the facility was used during the war?

From the look of this piece, one possibility IMO is as a coat check. The Bürgerbräukeller must have had a coat check room, so coat checks would have been necessary. I am not aware that the Bürgerbräukeller was used as a facility by the Red Cross in post-war Munich, but if it was, then this piece would have been appropriate.

This could be an indication : "...Red Cross - managed Hofbräubräukeller..." 20 March 1946

I think Gerdan has produced the exact "period documentation" that Bob is looking for! Thanks to you both.

Thank you very much, Gerdan. I think this is the correct answer. Br. James, the coat or hat check seems to be logical. I will display this with the few Burger Braukeller mugs I have.
