Sa sports badge for war wounded m1/52-- for review

Hey guys. I'm pretty sure that this piece is good, but other insight is always helpful. Marked M1/52, Drescher and Sohn. Most of the finish is still there, except the strip missing from the sword. Any thoughts??

    Regards and thanks in advance--Frank

Sorry Frank, but I'm doubtful about this piece. The dissolved finish is common to almost all of these wartime examples of the SA Military Defense Badge for War Wounded, but what puts me off is the absence of the RZM logo on the reverse. And I don't believe I've ever seen any example of this badge produced by any firm other than Werner Redo.

Br James-- Thanks for chiming in. However, I respectfully disagree. I have seen many well known dealers, and many other discussions on the forums that accept m1/52 as an original maker of this badge. Bob Coleman, John Tellesmanich of German War Booty are a couple. If you do a Google search on "sports badge war wounded m1/52", it may bring some new light to the subject. Not to mention there is one on the Estand right now for sale, in a set of badges. I included the link, but am not sure if I did so correctly. I am hoping that MORE folks will chime in here, to broaden this discussion. Thanks-- Frank

Thanks, Frank...but I'm sorry to say that I'm not convinced... Any late badge bearing an RZM classification M-number and maker's number but doesn't have the RZM logo is a problem for me. How such badges could have gotten past the RZM inspector at the factory, in the numbers that they must have been manufactured, and yet without the RZM logo is beyond my understanding. And here we're talking about the Deschler and Son factory, a major NSDAP provider and licensee!

Speaking just for myself, I would not want such a piece for my collection; I would have no faith that it would hold it's value until time to release it.

              Thanks again, my friend,

              Br. James

Thanks for your input, John. Your certainly sound convinced! Do you have any additional information to add about this piece, or is this your opinion...and of course ALL opinions are welcome!

Unfortunately a well known cast fake from the early ‘70’s, so
