    Sieger badge book

I don’t know if this book has been talked about on here before…. I received my copy today and IMHO If anyone collects HJ sieger (Reichsberufswettkampf) badges this book by Markus Stappen is a must have. It goes into the history of the competition for each year, events, and qualifications. It has many color photos of the badges and the documents that went with them. It is a very informative book & loaded with information.

Yes, this new reference work was announced earlier this year; it was written by one of our own colleagues here on WAF, "Rudel." As you said, there is much valuable information between these covers and I'm sure Rudel would like to see it further discussed among us. Thanks for reminding us of this important publication!

Br. James, it is well worth the price which I believe is very reasonable for the amount of material covered in it.

Excellent reference ! As mentioned , well balanced between text and photo documentation covering the array of badges and documents of the Reichsberufswettkampf. Not a show and tell book by some big wig collector showing bejewelled eagles and detailing fantastical vet acquired stories that are too pervasive in this hobby. This is a practical reference guide for collectors showing the maker marks , weights and measurements and the documents that accompany the awards.
Very reasonable price point for the information within and mine was delivered very quickly .

Right you are, Mike -- I bought it as soon as I saw the first ad at the beginning of this past summer. And it's the more valuable as it includes Wim's input, as well!

            Cheers,
