After very long deliberation and with approval of most (active) moderators and with the comment of the owner of the forum that he never liked the idea of outside hosting anyway, the following policy change will be introduced here in Tinnies and Political Badges (and at the distinction of moderators of other subfora in their areas):

Posts or new threads which contain photos that are hosted by an outside source will be erased! In special cases, at the discretion of moderators or association members, photos from outside hosting might be and can be copied and pasted back into such threads by moderators or any association member. The goal is not censorship but preservation of thread integrity.
This policy is instituted in order to preserve the threads for later reading and thus also preserving the integrity of the overall forum, being one of the best sources on the planet for this hobby. It has unfortunately happened over the last years that a very large amount of threads became useless due to the missing photos. This policy will stop that degeneration of the forum.

We sincerely hope this will find the approval of all members, no matter the membership status.

Providing that you pay the fee........ one of the only forums that i belong to where you must pay to become a member to post any photos. I refuse out of principle. I do pay membership to other forums....because i am not forced to.

It is good to be an man of principles!
I 100% agree with you that it should be free to post photos on this server and that is what 100% of the active moderators have suggested to the owner of the forum since roughly 10 years. He is still pondering the question, but has expressed the thought that he actually never liked the outside posting. Let's see whether this thought transpires into something more substantial over the next decade. Meanwhile moderators will tackle the topic like posted.

The privilege for paying members should only be the possibility to sell on the E-Stand because there money flows in both directions.

As mentioned, it is NOT about more money for the owner of the forum, it is about thread integrity. If you feel that what you posted is valid for preservation, I am more than happy to copy/paste it for you in your post. Same applies to my moderator collegue. You will agree that some "fast ask, fast answer, fast sell somewhere else" threads with outside hosting are not really preserveable and should be erased, or not?

I agree 100% - A thread is useless without photos - so why not make it free like 99.9% of other forums? What is it with a forum that makes you pay for the privilege of your knowledge?
If some one ask for opinions on something and you say "real" or "Fake" you could back up your claim by posting photos.

The moderators agree with you. Unfortunately, the owner will not make a decision one way or another. He is one of those missing in action.
