yes, I said that to him a few weeks back in a PM. He did write "removing from selling item 21" in the sale thread. Indeed a well known fantasy product.

I pmd him about it too. He did mention in the listing that this badge was no longer available, though he seems to suspect the info he was given is possibly incorrect as he says "it may be back up for sale later...." . I guess he plans to prove everyone wrong may be...; )

It sucks to find out something you have isn't right and like the party badge book says, you will do mental gymnastics to try and justify that which you have spent good money on. It's human nature.

Ratisbons has one listed in the recent auction ... and it has a bid !!
If a " leading Militaria specialist " has it in a running auction with bids , I can see why Magnus has it semi listed on estand ! As stated " old well known fantasy badge " .

Yes, it's a pity that so many fakes slip into a high specialized auction. If you inform Klaus he will withdrawn these pieces but the fact that they are already there is not so professional.

Well , these two examples are really Badge basics ... coffin pin and 1933 DE/AH fantasy.
I have contacted dealers before to no avail . Makes more sense to let the buyers know these badges are junk.

As they say - "study originals -and the fakes become apparent"

I also noticed these two badges at "Ratisbon's" and I'm curious why they are still available although many other items ( e.g. PAB's, IAB's...) have been withdrawn because of beeing fakes.

                    Best, Peter

Not the only bad badges on offer I might add . I think the last AH33 / DE33 I picked up from the repro section on the estand was $20.00 shipped... Ratisbons badge now at $86.00 plus fees with 6hrs remaining ! Pretty good return , could you imagine if a dealer had a box of 500 ... slow and steady .. $$

Think it's pretty safe to say that's forgone conclusion on some sites. They sure are "available" all the time.

Just saw the results on Ratisbon's. If you see how the fakes are sold, some people are crazy

plus 3% for usinf a card! scandalous - and to think that the "owner" of that auction house is a sponsor on here - says it all really - standards have slipped for sure

If you don't study the originals - then the fakes will NOT become apparent. Who's to blame? The greedy dealer for selling the crap in the first place? or the stupidity of the collector?
