    Party badge, production methods.

    Hi guys.

Does anyone have any online reference to how party badges was produced?

I just want to learn the basics behind the production method. I've been looking all over the internet and can't find anything.

I just want to understand the pure basics.
Was it hand painted, then enamelled? Or enamel painted?
Paint machine/stamped then enamels, or how did it work?

For eksampel, how was the swaz and its borders made?

    Thanks in advance

The party badge book by Jo Rivett covers some of the basics of manufacturing. He also says that he spent some time working in a badge factory and gives some personal insight. The book spends a good deal of time talking about die manufacturing etc as well as enamel methods. If you are serious about party badges, it's a must have. Available on amazon or you can buy it through the publisher still I believe for a good bit less. Good luck.

Jo's book is a must have in this case.

They stamped the badge, made from a copper alloy or sometimes iron, out with a die just like coins are made. The stamped pieces with an upraised relief design were trimmed and enameled and an attachment was soldered on the back.

Zinc pieces were also stamped out with a die and the upraised relief design was painted.
