A friend of my asked if I could post some pictures of his badge
Looking at the construction and the detailing we both think this is an original
    time- made piece

But with the good fakes today you never know

So here are two qeustions for those who are more knowleadgeble with these abzeichen
1; Is it an original one????
2: what would be the valaue ????

thanks in advanche for your opinions

      HELLO,
I HAVE HEARD FROM MANY SOURCES THAT THIS IS A HIGH QUALITY FANTASY/REPRODUCTION BADGE!
THE ONLY ONE THAT WAS PRODUCED HAD TWO PINS ON THE REVERSE SIDE AND WAS QUITE DIFFERENT IN APPEARANCE,ALSO IS EXTREMELY RARE AND EXPENSIVE! $$$-I BET THERE IS NO ONE OUT THERE WITH A SCAN OF AN ORIGINAL EXAMPLE (AS SHOWN IN MOST H.J.REFERENCE BOOKS)!!!

THE hj SKI BADGE AS SHOWN IS WITHOUT DOUBT A FANTERSY PIECE THAT CAME TO THE MARKET AROUND THE LATER PART OF THE 80'S . The proper badge is as shown with the large silver ring. THESE ARE EXTREEMLY RARE and cost a small fortune.

YES!,THE SKI BADGE WITH THE 2 PINS IS THE TYPE OF WHICH I WAS SPEAKING OF...AND IT'S THE RARE AND VERY PRICEY BADGE-I THINK AROUND $2000.00!
AND YES THE GREEN BORDERED BADGE LOOKS CONVINCING AND VERY TEMPTING
-IT IS A GREAT DESIGN!-THERE HAS PROBABLY BEEN MANY COLLECTORS WITH THIS IN THEIR COLLECTIONS! EVEN THE NOTORIOUS "PIECES OF HISTORY" DEALER IN ARIZONA SELLS THEM BY THE TRUCK LOAD!
WHO EVER OWN'S THE ROUND ,DUAL-PIN ORIGINAL IS VERY FORTUNATE!

The known Ski badge fetches great amounts, there are copies of this badge. I would say beware. These copies are in the 20's no more. $2000 IS NOT GOING TO GET YOU A REAL ONE.

                        Hello all,
A question regarding another badge considered to be fantasy piece, the red cross alpine rettungdienst badge. I have heard that both the green enamelled ski badge originally shown in this thread and the Red Cross badge I mention are fantasy items, yet the Red Cross badge is shown in the Husken book(I know books do have mistakes in them) and also I have seen the Red Cross badge for sale on at least one well respected militaria dealers website. Whats the deal with these badges and does anyone know who the producer of these items are? I do know that there is a tinnie with the same design and for the same event as shown on the green ski badge as shown. Thanks for any info

                          DUZIG,
I THINK THAT THERE WAS AN ACTUAL H.J. SKI TINNIE THAT WAS PERIOD-PRODUCED
AND THAT THE FANTASY H.J. SKI BADGE WAS COPIED AFTER THE TINNIE-LOOK ALIKE! MAYBE SOME HAS A SCAN OF THIS RARE H.J. TINNIE????
I AM NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THE RED-CROSS ALPINE BADGE...BUT I KNOW THAT THERE ARE HIGH-QUALITY FAKES AROUND-EVEN "PIECES OF HISTORY"
                          SELLS THOSE TOO!

                            Hello John,
Thanks for your reply. the tinnie you mention is listed in Manion's tinnie books unfortunately I do not have the means to scan it or anything. The Red cross badge I mention, I believe Lt. Johnson had a cased one for sale a while ago,I was surprised to see it for sale there because the consensus on that item is a fantasy piece & unless I'm mistaken he is considered to be a pretty honest dealer. In any case I thank you for you info.

The Red Cross badge and the Skie badge surfaced at the same time. Without saying to much, these came out of the mould at the saame time. Most likly produced in Checoslovacia as it was know. Both are fantersys. The maker is well known for other badges particularly Iron cross's.
