    Unknown badge/award

    Hi all,

Any ideas as to the veracity of the badge/award shown below? I'm trying to identify it, but it doesn't conform to any type of design I've seen before. General feedback so far is that it is a fake, but I find the details on the reverse intriguing. If not a 'fantasy' piece, could it be hunting/shooting related, as the crossed rifles, oak-leaves and acorns might suggest?

    Thanks for any thoughts

I'm afraid that for some reason, I like it.
Not sure about the engraving though.

it is not a POS, it is a legit design found on shooting pieces, also found finished in gilt

              Indeed, a genuine shooting piece.

The pendulum now swings the other way !!

                Thanks for the input, guys

Any further background information about this design, and for which organisation and shooting achievement this was awarded, would be gratefully received!!

It's generic, unlike Austria that had very specific designs for particular areas, German shooting groups tended to generic designs. You can find manufacturer's catalogues with dozens of designs that were available from them.

The shooting group holding the competition would simply pick which design they preferred....

I can't comment on the engraving on the reverse, it does look a little "tidy" to have been hand engraved, but the photo isn't good enough to tell if it is impressed... But the award/medal itself is definitley OK.

For what it's worth, I like it too.

                    The eagle looks almost NSKK(ish)...

                      Hi,

the inscription stands for the "Königspaar". The shooting was in 1935, and the "Königspaar" reigned for a complete year up to the next shooting in 1936.

                      See for example:
