    Plastic buttons on uniforms/brown shirt

Does any collector know anything about the use of plastic buttons
in uniforms from the third reich? Any known fakes or warning signs?

I have this HJ brown shirt and would be grateful for your professional opinions:

The button on your tunic looks fine to me. I have a few and they look the same. Think they may be bakelite and not plastic. As to fakes, have no idea. Mike

Looks 100% to me. Remember, the use of plastics began earlier than the III. Reich, and there were even tinnies, WHW donation pieces, etc. made of plastic that were used pre45.
