German Jager Division Ski Cap Badge.

From an old collection here in Norway I also bought this cap badge.
Could it be original ?

I don't see a problem with it, i know some where two piece field made constuction.

What interests me though is where it comes from, especially if it's from Norway. Looks almost like a ground find. There were several units in Norway which wore the Jäger arm and cap insignia, for example III./Grenadier Regiment 341 of the 270 Inf.Div. up in Troms. Also the 3 and 6 Jäger Btl and Ski Btl.82. The 3 btl in particular is interesting as it was originaly ski btl. Schlebrügge and the first ski unit of the army. So, if it is from Norway i'd like to know as i've long held a theory that ski units other than the 1 Skijäger brigade\division could also wear the skijäger cap insignia.

Strange badge as it seems to have been industry made to receive a ski ?
Look at the center form , not a standard Jäger badge ...
Not a field made one with a standard badge ?
And the ski has 2 nice splints , looking also industry made , not local ?

Hi Simon.

I have posted some items I bought of a collection of German medals and badges.
All together a bunch of them, originals and copies.
I agree with you this one looks good and looks like it has "been there" or a ground find.
The collector comes from the South of Norway and this cap badge come from werever so I have no history on it.
