Approximate value of this tinnie for insurance claim

Guys,
I just got this in the mail and luckily the sender insured the package. What I was hoping for was an approximate value so I can begin the claim process with a little knowledge. I got it at the Allentown show and I bought a few of them at a package price so I don't remember specifically what I paid for it. Thanks to all for your help. Robert

A sad end to a very nice tinnie. Kai Winkler has one on his site at the moment for 45 Euro, I think that's about $60 US.

It takes a bit of a light touch, requires that you use the right tools, know one key technique, and helps if you don't overheat the piece, but these are easily fixed. Often there's enough original solder present to honestly say it's a restoration rather han a repair.

Ralph, Correct. As a matter of fact, there is an indentation in the solder where the pin was. I will try a photo. Robert

Ah, the old indentation trick.

In that case, a solder job should be easy. But if you're merely going to remount the pin and then display the tinnie somewhere, you can get by with a little dab of cement - see if you can find the "liquid metal" variety at the hardware store and remember, a "drop is better than a glop".
