      Hi Steve,

Thanks for your good comment, though I am unable to post photos due to my lack of technology and expertise, computer-wise. But there have been fairly recent discussions of the 1940 RPT Commemorative Medallion here on WAF, including photos, so I would suggest that you do a search to see them.

I agree that watching "Triumph of the Will" does take a bit of time to accomplish, but it's certainly worth the effort! And when you're finished with that film, do look for "Victory of Faith" ("Sieg des Glaubens"), the film made by Leni Riefenstahl of the 1933 RPT -- another great investment of time!

      Cheers,

      Br. James

        Hi Gaston,

Indeed a great pair of early paper event badges -- many thanks for sharing them with us!

Thanks Br James, I'll have a look for it. Triumph of the Will came in a set with "Olympia ", too,I'm looking forward to that, too. I got the set on Amazon, it was pretty cheap.

I think the 35 badges were a bronze finish over a base metal, which may have been steel; I'll have to check mine at home tonight. See the bronze finish wearing off the highlights on this one.

Most of the 36 RPT badges I've seen appeared to have a light bronze finish, but I've also ones like this that appeared to have no bronze finish, or maybe it was worn off, so that they appear silver.

            Best,
            Greg

I've always thought that the 37, 38, and 39 ones that are black show an actual black finish over the base material, because the finish is often black on front and silver on the back.

That copper coloured 39 is cool, i hadnt seen one before.

Ok I've found the 35 I referred to in the original post as "silver" coloured. In the description the dealer describes it as "bronziert" (bronzed), so it must be some other base metal that's covered.
I agree with what Gaston said earlier, I don't think mine is coloured, I think it's bronze. Most I've seen are bronze, but clearly some aren't
