Gents Correct me if I am wrong but I was always under the impression that these badges had to also include the Gau Region inscribed on the reverse in order to be considered a period item. Maybe I have the wrong impression? Regards Robert

Please provide some factual evidence from Party sources to support this.

Okkulist has not provided the evidence to support his conclusion that the donation badges without the Gau markings are fake.

Not surprising since he has no evidence to support this. This is how collector myths begin, and nobody challenges it.

As seen in the link, it was pointed out that it would be cheaper and easier to just mark the reverse with the letters NSDAP, rather than to keep cutting new reverse dies.

These are rare badges, and if they are fakes, where are all the others?

Guys, you must think for yourselves! Use your common sense. This badge has no real market, since only serious collectors know what it is. The fakers reproduce badges which are known, and have a market. This is not one of those badges, and it remains a fairly rare puppy on the market.

Okkulist, Please refute my opinion with evidence, not just another BS conclusion, "Well Joe Blow said they were fakes," or something like that.

                      Hi Gary,

I certainly agree with your last note, and I have no information to add regarding this particular line of donation badges. But what seems odd to me about the piece which began this thread is that the badge is simply marked "N.S.D.A.P." I don't believe that I have ever seen a legitimate period badge marked that way, with only the Party's letters and without any maker's mark, RZM or LdO code, or even entirely blank. Even the Opfer-ring badges shown on the Gentleman's Military Interest Club forum link each include the name of a Gau and the security code of "Ges. Gesch." Do you have any further information as to the origin of this simple mark?

                      Thanks,

                      Br. James
