Cased 1937 SA Sports Award

Kai Winkler has one of these cased awards which I have wanted for a couple of years.

Unfortunately the price was quite high even after his 25% discount.

I recently came across this one which was less expensive and in fantastic condition. The quality is superb.

Just like Winkler's piece, the names of the other competitors are signed on the base of the box together with running times.

Awesome piece, finding one in the case is uber rare. The cases are rarer than the desk eagle award which are scarce and impressive enough by themselves, congratulations.

A wonderful piece -- congrats on finding it, and landing it, too! I wonder how such a piece was intended to be displayed? There doesn't appear to be any way of mounting the backboard to a wall...is there a way for the eagle and base to be removed from the backboard in order to sit on a desk or table? Or, since the case is so nicely finished and substantial, perhaps the idea was for the cased piece to sit on a table as-is?

Again, a great and rare piece!
