    Is this a hunting trophy?

I just found this after having purchased it with a wound badge years ago. It was said to have been brought back with the badge. Three of the rings are marked 800 and the oak leaf decoration leads me to believe its maybe German, but what little animal has nubs like these. I have Roe Buck mounts, but they do not look the same and why would someone cut these off and collect them? I know that this may not be the correct place to post, but I have always wondered what they are.

This are not Grandeln. Grandel are teeth, rund and shining (see the pic in wikipedia).

The shown attributes are part of horns (deer), nevertheless hunting trophies.

                Gerdan,

you are right , I was a little bit too fast .

Let me correct it from "Grandel" to "Kümmerer" (Hi compressore, a very good link!).

                Both can not be translated.

With "Kümmerer" is meant a trophy from an ailing wild animal, with stunted deer antlers.
