    1929 rpt

I finally managed to pick myself up a 1929 to go with my RPT collection. I'd actually never seen one in real life, only on here in pictures - I was surprised by how small it is!
    Thanks for looking, Steve

A very nice early 1929 RPT honor badge.

One of my all time favorite badges due to the many street fights at the event along with it producing two martyrs.

I agree with Erich, a very recognised but undervalued badge.

I also agree, Steve -- congrats on landing a fine addition to any RPT collection!

          Cheers,

Well, Steve, if you're working toward collecting a complete set of RPT badges, from last toward first event, then you presumably still need:

                1. The First Party Day, January 27-29, 1923, Munich.
("German Day," 1923, Nuremberg, September 1-2. Not counted as an official Reichsparteitag.)
                2. The Weimar Rally, 1926, July 3-4.
                3. "The Day of Awakening," 1927, Nuremberg, August 19-21.

Each of these gatherings, of course, constituted more than simply a mass rally; each included the NSDAP Party Congress for that year.

The earliest badge in my RPT collection is the 1927...and it took me more than two decades to find, so I wish you much success!

                Cheers,

                Br. James

Keeps happening to me when I get them out. Did anyone ever weigh one of these ?

Congratulation to scoring the bronze version.

Thanks for that guys - just when I thought I'd made my wish list smaller!
Can anyone recommend reference materials for the events Br James described? I don't know much about those times, and would like to learn more.

                          Hi Steve,

Glad to be of assistance. As for further background, check out the Wikipedia article under "Nuremberg Rally" -- I think you'll find some interesting information there. Indeed, I was surprised to find out that there was a documentary film made of the 1927 Reichsparteitag titled "Eine Symphonie des Kampfwillens," and Wikipedia even provides a link to that film.

Funny as I got mine back in 2013 and was surprised at just how light it was. I thought for sure it was a reproduction.
