My goodness, no! This is a very poor copy of a rare award. Even the ribbon is for the wrong award. It is for the annexation of Bohemia- Moravia.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

I also agree, per Bob Hritz' comments. I hope your friend will be able to return this fake and get his money back!

              Best regards,

Been collecting now well over 40 years and that is the worst copy BO that I have ever seen - - - I would not even induct it into my "Black Museum" !!

                      Hi,

                      guess what guys ?

I'm pretty sure that this amazingly bad fake is pictured in the Robert Werlich book "Orders and decorations of all nations" of 1974 !
I think that i saw it yesterday on the book that a friend just bought !
                      Interesting coincidence, isn't it ?

Dancz, your comment takes all its sense actually !

The book is full of ugly fakes, including the second main type of fake Croix de Guerre Légionnaire.
This is the second edition (first one from 1965, the 1974 edition has 476 pages - when the first one has 328), and i remember that the Blutorden (and the CDGL) are pictured in B&W. It could be interesting to check if this is the same picture in the 1965 edition, we may get more infos on the period of appearance of this fake Blutorden.

I will ad a picture taken from the book next week.

                      See You

                        Hi,

sorry for the delay, here are scans of the model, 100% similar to the fake presented in this topic.

So this one was made at least before 1974.

Well French Volunteer - - that book might well be worth keeping - - - as a most useful reference for fakes, copies and fantasy items. I have a number of old illustrated dealers lists and early references dating from the 1960's and they are worth their weight in gold !
