all I can say I should have kept my BO and my JS badge.
I have never seen another JS badge then the one I found with the BO and not a single shown badge in the thread is the same.

Robert, don't worry the BO is safe and sound I would like for the JS badge to join it but no idea where that is.

I just re-read the whole thread, but dont think we have seen a picture of Roberts badge nor know for sure if any of the many presented badges that are called original are in fact that.

Everyone has an opinion about how or what to look for, but nothing is known for sure. Are these ever mentioned periodically? If you take a step back and return to this thread and reread it after a few months, it all seems pretty strange to say the least. Plenty of different badges are availabe and show up regularly, the badges dont seem rare at all. No consensus on how an Original should look like is known to anybody, yet many have opinions and many dealers and writers are parotting eachother without one snippet of real eveidence.

We dont even known if these were even ever made or introduced or whatever.

It seems a bit too good to have yet another mystical badge. Without any real evidence of these even having ever existeed pre 1945 we should treat them as phantasies.

The only example I have held in my hands had been brought back by a US veteran. It had a pin attached by two plates and a sturdy hook on top, so it would not lean forward when worn. I made an offer that was fair, considering all of them were crapped upon via this forum. It is the type I trust. I do not know about the others, but they seem to be available, with various attachment devices. This makes me leery.

What is the price for an original badge, if so far only one original is known?

I would pay 3,500€ because even then you are taking a risk.

You will also have to sell it one day to a collector believes in it as much as you do.

Do not believe that an owner of a secured original on this subject it sold for 3.500 EURO.

We must remember that this is not an official award of the NSDAP. It is a privately made badge given by Adolf Lenk to those he believed deserved the badge. It has to be considered a private gift and not an award as Lenk had no authority to grant any official NSDAP sanctioned award.

... was not an official award badge ... Do you try to make copys to good ones?

A friend of mine got recently a JS AH group where the badge was included.
Again same features as the one I got once.
I am still behind the opinon, if the badge differs from the solid provinanced ones run away ...

And Jon knows what I talk about.

                            Hi Robert,

Thanks for rebooting this thread. Any pics as I'm also keen to learn more about the JS badge but as said before, it is controversial.

So do we have any pics of an "accepted" JS badge?
