    NSDAP pin from B-17 POW

I thought I would share this party pin with you. I don't need to know if it is original because it was given to me by a friend who was a B-17 tail gunner. He was shot down in Feb. 1945 and became a POW. After the march from Nuremberg to Moosburg, he was given this pin by a German guard who knew the war was just about over. My friend is now 91 and is in the front row at the right in the picture. He was the only survivor of his crew.

Many thanks for sharing this artifact and remembrance photo with us, Rob W. The NSDAP Membership Pin was made by the firm of Karl Wild of Hamburg. Very nice.

And WELCOME AMONG US -- it's good to have you here!

      Cheers,

      Br. James

Thank you guys. I volunteer at a WWII USAAF museum and all of my buddies are in their 90s! Today I'm taking a guy to the doctor who was a B24 pilot on the low level raid on Ploesti, Romania. Look up Ploesti and the airplane Sandman to see one of the iconic pictures of the war. Tomorrow I take another B24 pilot and a glider pilot to the museum.
I enjoy collecting things that have a personal connection to the war.
