    Rare NSDAP medal

Here is a nice example of this hard to find medal for the old leader korps of the NSDAP gau Hessen-Nassau, in it's original red case. Another example can be seen also on page 325 of Detlevs new book. If anyone can point me in a direction I can obtain more info on this medal I'd be grateful.
    Cheers

      Colin.

The only other one of these I've seen was sold by Helmut Weitze a few years ago. It may be the same one as in the book.

It's a medal given to those attending the 'NSDAP Old Leadership Corps' meeting which was held in Hessen-Nassau in 1936 (obviously!)

The question is.........how many members of the 'Old Leadership Corps' were there?

      It's certainly a rare medal.

        Hello Robin,
It is apparently the one featured in the Husken medal book, can't confirm as I don't have that book, it certainly is'nt the one in Detlevs book as the featured medal there has some distorsion marks on the reverse on the word Alte which mine has'nt, also the case on the one in Detlevs book has the little piece of material which covers the hinge on the inside of the case completely broken, mine as you can see is about 2 thirds broken...was hoping maybe someone might have written or seen an article in some magazine or such.
It's the only one I remember seeing, case is maker marked.
        Cheers again

          Very nice.

How & where is the case marked? Is it possible to show a picture please?

          Cheers

Nice medal from the unauthorised period to 1936. I have always felt these are much under estimated. The big pleasure for collectors these can be bought for very little money in real terms. Keep up the good work and find some more in the woodwork.

I believe these are very underestimated too, the maker mark is stamped into the base of the case and reads

              E.Ferd. Wiedmann
              Frankfurt a/M.

              Cheers
