        That's strange.

I don't recall having seen one of these before in Silver and then two pop up in 24 hours (Weitze and yours).

These badges were only ever issued in Bronze as far as I am aware.

Very soft details IMO, this one is mine.

          Best Regards,

Is it silver or just a bronze badge that has been polished to death

I also was surprised to see the silver one on weitze, and thought the same as Stan about Bronze only. Your one looks good but I have never seen one before.

The badge looks like a mis-strike from the obverse, that being said the silver finish appears genuine, I am not aware that zinc bubbling can be faked so it would appear to have some age unless cast from a genuine bronze example. The mm looks good- the hinge and pin do not- I have never seen these ones on a genuine sa war wounded by this maker. Have a look at the edges very carefully, it may be a very good casting.

here is another anomalous badge in bronze- note same setup but with a catch plate- I have never seen an original redo with catchplate, also finish is much deeper brown than usual= many alarm bells ringing.

IMO this badge is fake and as such it is highly probably that the silver one posted is also. The Weitze badge I like though, looks to be a period oddball.

                      I agree with Mametz.

IMO its a normal bronze version which has had all its finish removed.
