Opinion needed on a HJ pin

I would like to know if my HJ pin is an original or reproduction. The overall condition is good, with some signs of age. The back has raised letters Otto Hoffmann Ges Gesch. Also, there is a bit of wear on the letters with a copper color showing through.

If it is original, I would like to find the RZM code for Otto Hoffmann and the approx. value of the pin.
    Thank you
    Steve

Hi Steve, welcome to the forum!

I have some concerns over the HJ badge that you have posted. The enamel appears very dull and lifeless and the swastika looks a bit thin too?

I cannot find the RZM code for this maker either.

    Cheers, Ade.

      Hi Steve,

I would definitely stay away from this pin. I agree with Adrian, the arms of the swastika are too thin. The red fields of the enameling are very opaque. Save your money. Hope this helps.

James is right - the "Otto Hoffmann" pins are all fakes that started appearing 5-8 years ago. They come in every colour of the rainbow and are never RZM marked. The swastika is too thin and the enamel is often opaque.

          Sorry for the bad news.

            HJ pin

Thanks for the help. I picked up the pin for 10 dollars, which is probably twice what it is worth. But, it's not a big loss. Eitherway, it's good have the information on the pin.

Again, thanks for the replies, I know this was a newbie question that would probably be passed over on some other forums.
