I bought this item a few days ago. Can anyone help me with the maker? I cannot find any markings. The piece where the needle is supposed to lock is missing. I bought a lot with 5 items and I have posted them at some other forums at this main forum (those are confirmed real).

It looks like the badge you posted is made of zinc. Very unusual as the majority by far were made of Buntmetall. I once owned a DRL Sports Badge in zinc, made by Hermann Wernstein of Jena-Löbstedt, but it had the typical maker marking and D.R.G.M. number.
I know some collectors say that any DRL Sports Badge without maker markings is a postwar reproduction. I'm not certain whether that is correct or not. Your badge looks very believable to me, but I could be wrong about this.
