Helmut Weitze Prices Opinions Please

Folks,
Scanning over the Weitze website in doing some research, I was amazed at some of his prices. Are his prices a bit high or is he right on? Thanks

Honestly.. In my opinion.. hit and miss. On some items they are right on with other vendors and some items are way above what I would call "retail". Again, no harm intended.. just my opinion.

Rarely a bargain to be found there, but occasionally some rare items which are nearly worth the 30% markup on everything. Also his shipping to the USA is not cheap (or realistic) . I wanted to place an order for a few small pins once. He wanted 30€ for shipping. I've had others send the same thing from Germany for 10€ registered. In my opinion, only ever worth it for the scarcest of items. He will work with you a little on the price if you create a bundle.

Most of his items are overpriced but when i talked with him in the past he offered a discount of 10 %. But that was many years ago and i do not know his current policy. skalp

I've done business with Helmut Weitze before; He does charge high prices for some things, but my experiences ordering from him are always positive.

I've always paid €20 for shipping, but usually have the item in my hands within 3 days (through Fedex). I have had mixed experiences with mail through Deutsche Post (lost/stolen items), so I can justify the extra cost to use Fedex.

Hideously high prices asked, 50% above what a sane dealer would ask, use only as a last resort.

Over the years I've bought quite a few items from Helmut, and I will say he has been able to find pieces for me that I could never find elsewhere. I don't mind paying a bit more for something difficult to find. His inventory must be among the largest of any dealer of militaria, and the company has always treated me well as a customer.
IMO if you compare his prices with some of the high-end dealers in the US, for example, I don't think you'll find so much of a difference.

Reasonable prices on many items.There are a number of dealers who price items
much higher.

Their prices are slightly more expensive than other dealer but i believe they deliver a good service.
They have great stuff for sale but also a few fakes in their inventory.

I buy allot from Helmut Weitze mostly WHW & Tinnies but other items also as he has a good variety of items. I cherry pick the items according to the price. I like his service with most times 3/4 days to Nova Scotia using Fed-Ex which is fine with me. On the 1 occasion I had a problem a short item it was taken care of very fast & professional with no questions asked.

I buy usually photos of him. And they are reasonably priced when you compare them with other dealers.
