Andreas is right on the money! The scenario depicted by this Kreistag Badge is patterned after a color post card created for this event by famous artist and illustrator, Professor Wilhelm Emil (Elk) Eber, who provided many designs for NSDAP subjects and occasions. Eber was a Bund Oberland member and received a First Issue Blood Order; he held a very low NSDAP Membership number though apparently did not qualify to receive the GPB due to lapses in his Party dues payment caused by several trips to the USA in the 1920s and early '30s where he produced a number of fine paintings of Native American life. If one Googles "Elk Eber," one will find a selection of his work.

Thanks, Erich; I have that one, too. Elk Eber was certainly a very talented artist and illustrator, the equal of 'FIPS' (Philipp Rupprecht, the infamous illustrator who created the most memorable and hideous caricatures of Jews when he served Streicher's "Der Stürmer" as head illustrator) or 'Mjölnir' (Hans Schweitzer, the chief cartoonist for Goebbels’ "Der Angriff" newspaper), or even Prof. Richard Klein, one of my favorites, who deservedly held the position of Director of the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. As with Heinrich Hoffmann, both Eber and Klein were awarded the honorary title of "Professor" by Hitler himself as symbolic of the high regard in which he held them (and others) as outstanding leaders in their artistic fields.

No argument here, Jo, but from the expression on their faces, these two certainly appear to be angry about something...just what you'd expect SA Men to look like as they prepare for battle!

There are several memorable scenes in the books by Sven Hassel, where the characteres during a brawl removes their army belts, using the beltbuckles as knuckle duster...Thus I believe the two men above, prepare them self to clean the street from marxist oponents
