    Large Swastika Cap Badge??

Curios metal Swastika with two fixing prongs to the rear, of course it could be for anything with little chance of knowing the exact use , im just wondering if perhaps it might well be a cap badge of sorts with the two fixing prongs, perhaps for a helmet The way it would be fixed might well be a ''static'' form, so early usage? Anyway id be interested in members opinions.

            Hi gents,

I think the photograph album device is a very strong probability in my opinion.

            Best wishes,

            John.

Agree with all comments, just a side note, ive just seen a pic in Headgear of Hitlers Germany Vol 3, chapter 2 , there is a poor photo of an early NSDAP member wearing such a badge, just interesting. Anyway ill keep it in my ''maybe'' box for a while

                Hi,

What immediately came to mind when I saw your photos below were pix of Konrad Henlein, leader of the Sudeten Germans, who wore a uniform peaked cap with a swastika where the eagle and swaz was on similar caps in Nazi Germany. Google "Konrad Henlein" and you'll see what I mean.

Of course, this piece could easily be a cover device for a photo album, as has already been suggested; just thought I'd mention this.

                Cheers,

                Br. James

Very first fire police helmets had a metal swastika and a triangular tri colour as insignia on the M16 helmets
