Saw this today and walked away from it. Looking for some affirmation that I made the right decision.

Looks like a fantasy piece to me.

I think you made the right decision about this piece as I am leery of it too. I don't know for certain but, unless they were giving it away, I would walk away from it as well. IMO it is always wise to trust in your gut instinct rather than trying to convince yourself that something is real.

I found two similar pieces on the net. They appear to be the exact same design, although both of these have cut-out detail and red felt inserts. I have a feeling that none of these are real.

This one appears to be more believable with the pin-back assembly marked to G. Brinkmann of Breslau, but I'm still not buying it.

yes, I saw those examples also doing an image search.
I notice they all have the same flaw on the lower right side of the cross.
