    Has some damage which is a shame.

            Yes, the Opferring was for non-NSDAP members.
            The Opferring (& badges) really deserve a book all on their own, as there are just so many variants. They are actually rare badges to find, and sadly the fakes of these flood the market
            So many misconceptions as well attached to the Opferring, as well as the badges! What springs to mind here are the round zinc badges, that are n o t , Opferring badges - even though they say Opferring etc..

                    Back in the day, Detlev had a load of these, buttonhole and pin back I guess a delux version of the tinnie, I bought quite a few (all but 2 long gone) He also had Hansen made Iron crosses as well.

                          yep it hurts , sometimes ignorance is bliss . its a downer when your coming to sell , but hey I wouldn t want to pass off fakes to anyone ,its ruined this hobby

                              I recently got one of the Kieler Woche 1934 badges too, also a buttonhole by Hansen. I don't know if 1934 was the first year for this type of badge, but I found this collection that appears to show years 1934-1939 at least of the Nazi era (hard to read some of them).
