    HJ Meeting Badge

    Hello Friends,
I have been led to beleive that this particular badge is a faker. As a matter of fact, some say it does not even exist. Cone's reference says 250 per year thru 1945 and his 1945 badge is like mine but without a maker. Frobler's old web-site stated that 1942 was indeed a fake because a few were on e- bay for 200-300 dollars. So who is to say?? Perhaps there are other and hopefull some original examples amongst us and hopefully, for my sake, a 1942 example. If I can't get a look at an "original 1942", should I assume mine is still a faker?? Maybe this award never existed. Let's have some fun. I showed you mine.....now show me yours. It's Saturday night and I'm with my badges. They don't talk back and you can put them in a box when your finished with them and they get better with age and not worse. Robert PS Thanks Alot

Here is the reverse. Sorry, cheap scanner. Paid more for this badge than I did for this lousy scanner. Robert marked Alois Klammer Innsbruck

      Hi Robert,

I'm afraid that my answer is that I really don't know, however I do tend to err on the side fake or fantasy. Youth meetings between Germany & Japan did occur & there were "friendship badges" issued as I have photographic evidence of them in wear (I won't post it because A) the pic isn't mine & B) it looks nothing like the fakers have come up with yet).

PS buy a new scanner, I use the Epson Perfection 1670 & it does the back beautifully

      Cheers
      Don

Thanks Don for your imput. I am wondering if Canon makes an eqivalent to your Epson. I have an exchange policy with my Canon whereby I can turn this one in and get full purchase price toward an upgraded Canon scanner. Thanks again, Robert
